In Pictures: Victoria Electric Hurricane Harvey Recovery

Victoria Electric Cooperative serves Rockport, Texas, which suffered a direct hit from Hurricane Harvey when it made landfall as a Category 4 storm on August 25.

With 22,000 meters out, more than 200 personnel, including co-op staffers, contractors, and mutual aid workers from 10 co-ops worked long hours to repair VEC’s damaged lines and poles.

“This amazing team helped bring over 8,000 meters online” in one day, said Brittany Marsh, communications specialist for the Victoria, Texas-based co-op.

Below are images of the tireless efforts of VEC crews to restore power to their members.
