NRECA Statement on Anne Hazlett being chosen to lead USDA Rural Development

ARLINGTON, Va. – The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association today issued the following statement congratulating Anne Hazlett on being chosen to lead Rural Development agencies at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“A healthy rural America is a key ingredient as we work to strengthen our economy and improve lives,” said NRECA CEO Jim Matheson. “Electric cooperatives are deeply invested in America’s rural communities. We look forward to working with Anne as we pursue common goals like meeting tomorrow’s energy needs, deploying rural broadband, and improving infrastructure throughout rural America.”

The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is the national service organization that represents the nation’s more than 900 private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to 42 million people in 47 states.
