The mission of NRECA International is to bring the insights, experience and expertise of America’s electric cooperatives to the world. But the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic have complicated that mission, curtailing global electrification efforts and curbing travel.
Efforts to adapt and expand the program are helping overcome these challenges. And a resurgence of confidence in the ability of the cooperative model to bring sustainable electric service to unserved communities, particularly in African countries, has greatly elevated the program’s status.
